It's hot!

I don't think we've officially hit 100 degrees yet this year but once it gets over 95 I don't think it matters how much higher the temp gets. I don't even want to leave the house. Of course I have to go to work and I have to go to the store because I always seem to forget something. The air conditioning at work isn't fulling working and it's pretty miserable sitting in front of a computer typing in the heat. I left early last night when they offered to let us go because I kept falling asleep! Hopefully it's better today because I've almost used up all of my vacation time already.

Let the waiting begin

As excited as I am about getting started with the IF testing I'm not excited about having to wait to get all the testing done and get the results. I go in for my first round of bloodwork on Aug. 6. That's the bloodwork that's done to check my progesterone levels. Then, after I start my next cycle, I'll go back on CD 3 for another round of bloodwork. That will be the "big" bloodwork, FSH, LH and thyroid. Danny also needs to go in for his SA. I called Friday and scheduled the first available appointment they had, July 28, but now he's saying he'd rather wait until he gets his vacation for this year so he can take a whole day off. He doesn't get his vacation until the end of August. So I'll be all done with my bloodwork but we'll still be waiting for his SA results.

First IF consult

I had my consult with the OBGYN this morning. It was my first time seeing her and I lucked out because I really like her. I took my charts in with me and she went through each one telling me how our timing was for each cycle. She gave me some timing tips and kept going on about how good my charts were. So I guess I'm going back to charting since she thought my charts were so great. She told me that a few cycles our timing wasn't great and I was afraid she was going to just send me home and have us try for a few more months. Luckily she said that even with the imperfect timing on a couple of cycles after a year it's good to start some testing. She saw that I usually ovulate on the later side and said that even if all of my bloodwork comes back ok she might have me try Clomid. She also mentioned doing an HSG but said that she didn't recommend it unless my bloodwork showed something that would warrent doing the HSG. Since I didn't get in before this cycle started I'll have to wait until next cycle for the CD 3 testing. She said they'll do the FSH and LH and a thyroid screen then. I will be able to do the progesterone check this cycle though, she set up an appointment for CD 25 which will be August 6. She also gave me an order and kit for an seman analysis for Danny. The local RE's office will be the one to actually do the SA and the paperwork says that we have to schedule an appointment even though the actual sample can be collected at home. So I need to call them to get that set up. The problem with that is that they only set up appointments for SA's Monday through Thursday from 8:30-3:00. Danny goes to work at 7:30 and leaves work at 4. Hopefully we'll be able to work something out though.

So that's my big update. The blog will probably still be a little slow until the test results start rolling in.

Is anybody out there?

I've had this blog for about 4 months now and I've only had one comment (thanks Malki!). I have to wonder if this is because no one is reading my ramblings. Not that I blame anyone for not finding my blog interesting. I rarely have anything exciting to talk about. It just makes me wonder if I'm blogging to myself. So if you do read, comment please! It will make me feel better just knowing that I'm not going on and on for nothing.

So with that out of the way I guess I can go on to my anxiousness about my upcoming appointment with the OBGYN. I actually had a dream a few nights ago about it. Kind of. In the dream my mom was in the waiting room with me. She kept asking why in the world I was going to the doctor just because I wasn't pregnant. I had my BBT chart printouts with me and she kept asking questions about them too. Then the doctor came out to the waiting room, took a glance at my charts and said I needed to do injectibles. The weirdest thing about this is that it was a male doctor and the OBGYN practice I'm going to is an all female practice. Then the doctor took me back to a room and did some procedure that I guess was injecting the fertility drugs. Ok, I know that isn't how injectibles work but apparently my brain goes weird when I sleep.

I'm guessing the dream is more about my being anxious to get to the doctor and get some answers and being afraid that the doctor will find a problem and we'll have to start fertility treatments. Only 2 days to go!

On to a new cycle

...again. Yes, dear old AF showed up yesterday. Not that I was surprised or all that dissapointed. After 12 previous cycles that ended in a visit from AF I really wasn't expecting cycle 13 to end any differently. Now I can just focus on my appointment on Friday. I'm hoping that the week doesn't drag on too slowly. I'm not sure if going to the doctor will accomplish anything at all but it makes me feel a little better to know that I'm at least being proactive.

Nothing new to report

I haven't posted for awhile because I really don't have anything new to report. I decided to not temp this cycle so I although I'm pretty sure I did ovulate I don't know when and I don't know how many DPO I am. It's actually pretty relaxing not having to stress about my temps.

I haven't been doing so great with WW. I gained a pound this week and wasn't really surprised. What do I expect when I eat a bunch of fast food and partake of too many vending maching goodies? With a family get together coming up on the 4th I'm not expecting much of a loss next week either.

The only thing I have going on right now is prepping for a yard sale. My mom and I got the bright idea to have a sale this Saturday. Luckily most of what we're selling is leftovers from last year's sale so it's already priced. I do need to go through my old clothes and shoes, a few boxes in the closet, and the boy's clothes and toys though.
